Material Controller



Novocure is a global publicly-traded commercial-stage oncology company developing a profoundly different cancer treatment therapy called tumor treating fields (TTFields) for patients with solid tumors. TTFields therapy is a non-invasive, novel, antimitotic treatment modality which utilizes proprietary technology attempting to slow or reverse tumor progression by inducing tumor cell death. Novocure's commercialized product, Optune, is approved for the treatment of adult patients with glioblastoma (GBM) in the USA, Europe and Israel. Novocure has ongoing or completed clinical trials and is further expanding its efforts into several other solid tumor indications - non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer and other types of solid cancers. 

Material Controller

To support our team in Root, Switzerland we are looking for a

Material Controller (9 Months Contract)

In this role as Material Controller you are responsible for essential parts of Novocure's global material process planning. You will be working closely with our contract manufacturers to ensure that goals related to in time delivery, inventory turns, compliance and financial performances are met or exceeded and therefore contribute to further structuration and optimization of Novocure's manufacturing department.

Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers who manage supply chain, inventory control, purchasing and procurement of raw materials, parts, equipment, machinery and services used in operations.
  • Establish and maintain communications while facilitating a consistent and coordinated interface with suppliers on deliver and other performance objectives.
  • Ensure optimization of all materials managed by contract manufacturers including scheduling, purchasing, inventory control and materials movement and supplier performance measurement.
  • Work in close collaboration with other departments and stakeholders to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
  • Participate in inter-departmental teams working towards continuous process improvement and elimination of waste.
  • Become the focal point for contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinate and manage physical inventory audits together with accounting.
  • Assist in developing policies and SOPs relating to materials management.
  • Manage the BI reporting system for all tracked KPIs of the different suppliers.

Your profile:

  • Working experience in Materials and/or Logistics. Ideally in the electronic device industry and a working knowledge of international materials process planning.
  • Alternatively a degree in a related field and initial experience in a student position.
  • Knowledge of raw materials planning systems (MRP), enterprise resource planning systems (ERP), production processes and quality control.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of inventory control.
  • Knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and orally in English.
