For our Finance Department at the European headquarter based in Basel we are now looking for a
Accounting Director EMEA (m/f )
In this challenging role you have the overall accounting responsibility for all EMEA legal entities and are leading Accounting Manager team in Basel. The Accounting Director EMEA reports to the Regional CFO and supports the Regional Leadership team in all accounting matters.
Your Responsibilities are:
Generate timely and accurate financials which will enable regional and local management teams to make sound commercial decisions. Ensure VAT compliance.
Ensure financial controls are documented and followed. Ensure region is compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Compile annual statutory reports, transfer price documentation and tax filings in accordance with local laws and regulations.
Key contact point for accounting-related business issues between Corporate HQ/CFO EMEA and the subs, GL/ manager and FP&A
Coordinate and oversee internal and external audit and compliance activities (USGAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, code of conduct etc.); contact for external auditors (D&T, tax authorities)
Responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
Tax activities: liaise with local tax authorities and tax advisors, responsible for year end tax accruals; in collaboration with Corporate HQ tax department.
Continuously identify process improvements, development and implementation of best practice (value added) solutions.
Oversee regional cash management
Proven track record of minimum 10 years in managerial Accounting functions, ideally in a Shared Service Environment
Professional Finance and Accounting qualification (US CPA, UK Chartered Accountant, master degree in accounting, finance or business admin with an emphasis on accounting), US GAAP is required
Excellent leadership skills, strategic capability, sound decision making skills and the ability to execute are key components
Customer focused working style & ability to partner with business leaders to drive business results and change
Experience in SAP environment
English and ideally German (fluent), any additional language (e.g. French, Italian) is an advantage
