We have an interesting and exciting position for an experienced Indirect Tax Manager based in Geneva.
The main responsibilities of the Indirect Tax Manager are :
- Execute the VAT, customs and excise strategy of the company;
- Manage the VAT, customs and excise processes and internal controls within the company, increasing the level of compliance and being in control for VAT, customs and excise;
- Managing a small team of Indirect Tax professionals that is responsible for fulfilment of the VAT compliance obligations of the company.
- Advise the different business units on VAT, customs and excise matters related to the daily operations of the company, in close collaboration with operators, traders, IT, finance and back-office teams, and reaching out to the tax teams of refineries of the group, terminals, counterparties and customs agents;
- Provide training and awareness related to VAT, customs and excise matters;
- Manage the VAT functionalities and set-up in the company’s ERP system and other VAT automation systems/processes (where relevant/appropriate) together with the company’s SAP team/external consultants.
If you have:
· University education in accounting & finance, and/or tax law. Proven record of specialization in indirect taxation (VAT, customs and excise);
· 8+ years of experience with indirect taxation in a complex international environment, or a tax consultancy firm;
· Expert experience with applying EU VAT rules to international cross-border operations for goods and services and good understanding of the VAT compliance obligations;
· Have a good understanding of EU customs rules and EU excise rules for energy products;
· Willingness and eagerness to learn and fill the gaps;
· Experience with SAP R3 is a plus. Good knowledge of modern computer tools (Microsoft, etc…);
· Excellent written and oral English; Dutch, French and/or Russian is a plus;
· Critical, conscientious and reliable, flexible, hard worker with good communication and analytical skills, curious and willing to stick your nose into things; integer and honest; able to think together with the business and find solutions;
· Good project management and organization skills, ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines;
· Take initiative and able to work independently, self-starter;
· Able to translate indirect tax language, complex issues and requirements to peers and management;
· Able to work in a team, motivate people to change, apply diplomatic approach, act decisive and solve problems, open minded and easy accessible for questions;
· Good people manager able to manage a team.
