Trust Accountant

Job description:

Our client is a well-established boutique fiduciary services provider based in Zurich city center.

On behalf our client and its growing team, Swisslinx is looking for a Trust Accountant to strengthen its finance function and support the administration of its clients' structures.

The Trust Accountant will be responsible for the bookkeeping and financial reporting of a portfolio of trusts, foundations and companies. This role involves close collaboration with trust officers and senior management to ensure timely and accurate financial records, statutory filings, and support in audit and tax processes when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for a portfolio of companies, foundations and trusts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
  • Prepare periodic financial statements in accordance with applicable reporting standards
  • Handle the preparation of annual accounts and liaise with external auditors where applicable
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and regulatory filings, as needed
  • Support trust officers with ad hoc financial reporting or analysis required for client reviews or regulatory compliance
  • Ensure all accounting records comply with internal policies, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices
  • Monitor cash flows, payments, and bank reconciliations for client entities
  • Liaise with banks, auditors, and legal advisors as needed

Requirements

  • Experience in a Trust or Corporate Accounting, preferably within a fiduciary/Treuhand or financial services firm
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data in complex spreadsheets
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Hands-on and reliable
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken); Spanish or Portuguese is a plus for LatAm client support
