MS Amlin AG was established in 2010. It is incorporated in Switzerland and operates in Zurich with branches in Bermuda, Malaysia and USA. It currently has approximately 60 employees in Switzerland. MS Amlin AG is a wholly-owned reinsurance subsidiary of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company, a division of the MS&AD Group of Japan, the eighth largest non-life insurer in the world.
We are currently looking to recruit a
Underwriter France/Belgium/Africa
(full-time position) based in Zurich (with extensive travel)
The role holder will have oversight of MS Amlin AG’s portfolio, for all lines of business, in Belgium and Africa and will support the Underwriter in charge of the French market by managing a couple of client relationships. The role reports into the Market Unit Head for French speaking territories and Africa.
Your Role
Development of marketing material for external stakeholders including presentations and business cases
Analysis of market segment and market potential
Relationship management with clients and brokers
Technical analysis of P&C treaties - including pricing, review with Product Leads and wording analysis
Follow-up on the development of prior underwriting years
Ensure that business plan is met in accordance to MS Amlin’s underwriting guidelines
Preparation of statistics and reports for various internal stakeholders (Claims function, Reserving Actuaries, Technical Accounting, …)
Various business initiatives
Your Profile
At least 5 years of professional experience and a proven track-record in re/insurance, in the actuarial or in the consulting industry
Good knowledge of the local re/insurance market (France, Belgium), with existing re/insurance network
Excellent understanding of non-life reinsurance (type, products, accounting, claims)
Experience in direct P&C insurance or fac would be a strong asset
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills ; independent and stress resistant personality
Ability to work across functions and to maintain overview in complex situations
Fluent/Native in French and very good command of English, both written and spoken
Very good IT skills (Office; Admin systems; Visualisation Tools; any programming experience would be an advantage)
